Sun-damaged Skin

Rejuvenate sun damaged skin

What is Sun-damaged skin?

Let’s face it, we all love the sun and the positive effects it has on our mood and skin tone. Unfortunately, too much sun exposure can cause premature ageing of the skin and that, we love a bit less! This is called photo-ageing, and its unlike natural ageing.

This type of ageing happens when ultraviolet light causes damage to the DNA of your skin resulting in skin colour and texture changes. To see the difference between normal ageing and photo-ageing, have a look at an area of your body that is not exposed to the sun and compare it to the skin of your face.  In general, lighter skin is more susceptible to photo-ageing that darker skin as melanin is protective.
