Body Jet (also known as water-jet assisted liposuction or WAL) is an advanced liposuction technique that uses a pulsating stream of saline (water + solution) to gently loosen fat cells before suctioning them out. Instead of harsh scraping or heat, the water jet delivers a more delicate dissection, preserving surrounding tissues, blood vessels, and connective structures.
Because the fat is loosened first and then removed, this method leads to less trauma, bruising, and swelling compared to traditional liposuction. It’s ideal for removing localised pockets of fat resistant to diet and exercise, giving you smoother, more refined contours.
How does Body Jet Liposuction work?

At Amar Aesthetics, Body Jet treatments are performed by Consultant Plastic Surgeon, Mr Amar Ghattaura. Every patient receives a thorough assessment, including medical history, skin quality, and areas of concern, so we can tailor the treatment to your unique anatomy and goals.
How the procedure works
We begin by injecting a small amount of local anaesthetic to numb the area. Then, using tiny incisions, a cannula equipped with a water-jet nozzle is introduced.
The jet sprays fluid to loosen fat cells, and at the same time, gentle suction removes these loosened cells. Because the technique is less forceful, nearby tissues remain relatively unharmed.
In many cases, the extracted fat can remain viable for possible fat transfer, should you wish to use it elsewhere (e.g. for volumising). Incisions are small and often don’t require stitches, leaving minimal visible scarring.
Recovery & safety
Due to the gentler nature of Body Jet, downtime tends to be shorter. Many patients notice reduced bruising and discomfort.
You’ll wear a compression garment to support healing and contouring. Our surgical team monitors your recovery to ensure optimal results.
